About one in three residents in some more affluent South Bay communities have received coronavirus vaccinations, compared to less than 10% of those in such working-class communities as Lawndale, Lennox and Wilmington, the latest county figures show.

Buffets aren’t around now thanks to the pandemic, but with several new restaurants serving everything from ramen to daily-made doughnuts to Angus burgers coming to a new plaza at a long-standing Manhattan Beach mall, it could feel like you’re at an outdoor smorgasbord this summer.

Los Angeles County has ordered four Manhattan Beach restaurants to stop offering outdoor dining, which California currently bans as part of a regional coronavirus stay-at-home order — though those businesses said they were simply following the city’s latest policy.
