A woman had just stepped outside of a restaurant in south Redondo Beach when approached by a man and a woman who asked if they could see her French bulldog on Friday morning, March 12.

After she obliged, the pair shoved the woman and took the dog, ran back to their black Mercedes-Benz and fled northbound along Pacific Coast Highway about 9:50 a.m., Redondo Beach police Sgt. Mark Valdivia said.

A witness provided a description of their car to officers during a 911 call, Valdivia said, and officers found the sedan minutes later at PCH and Torrance and took the suspects into custody after they were identified by the victim and the witness.

The woman suffered minor injuries, but her French bulldog, an eight-week old pup named Cash, was returned to her safely by officers.

A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
