A large crowd of teens wandering throughout Del Amo Fashion Center prompted the mall to close early on Saturday evening, authorities said.
Mall security had called Torrance police about a group of 50 to 70 people who were “yelling and bothering customers,” said police Sgt. Alexander Martinez.
Management at the mall decided to close the mall about 6:20 p.m., about two hours before normal closing time.
Torrance police and other South Bay agencies spent the next hour trying to get the crowd to exit the mall, which most eventually did, Martinez said.
