A woman who led police on a brief chase in a stolen vehicle and crashed into a wall was arrested in Manhattan Beach overnight after police found her hiding under a bush, authorities said.

It all started about 9:45 p.m., when an automated license plate recognition camera detected the stolen Mazda sedan at Aviation Boulevard and 11th Street, said Sgt. Kelly Benjamin.

Officers pulled the driver over and she took off about a minute later, Benjamin said. The Mazda sped south on Aviation before crashing into the wall at Mathews Avenue. Then the driver ran away.

Police set up a containment around the neighborhood for several hours before the woman was found under a bush and taken into custody, Benjamin said. No one was hurt in the incident.

The driver’s name was not immediately available.
