A child on a skateboard was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured Tuesday in Redondo Beach.
The collision occurred about 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of Curtis Avenue and Felton Lane, according to Redondo Beach Police Department Lt. Jeff Mendence.
The skateboarder was taken to a Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene as required, Mendence said.
“Initial investigation indicated that the pedestrian rode a skateboard into the roadway where the collision occurred,” Mendence said. “The driver was released, and the case remains under investigation.”
Anyone with information about the collision was urged to call RDPD Investigator Clint Daniel at 310-379-2477, extension 2721, or email@example.com.
