Two people were found dead inside a home in Redondo Beach Wednesday, Sept. 25 in what police believe was a murder-suicide, authorities said.
Redondo Beach police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Gates Avenue to check on the welfare of a resident about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Lt. Fabian Saucedo said.
Officers went into the residence and discovered two people dead inside, Saucedo said.
Based on preliminary information, police were investigating the incident as a murder-suicide involving two family members, but further details, including the relationship between the two, were not available pending notification of next of kin, Lt. Shawn Freeman said.
Police were not looking for suspects and there was no danger to the public, Freeman said.
The cause of death was being investigated by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, while Redondo Beach police were investigating what led up to the discovery of the bodies, Saucedo said.
Anyone with information regarding the investigation was asked to contact the Department’s tip line at 310-937-6685 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
