Redondo Beach police were asking for the public’s help in locating a 61-year-old man who went missing nearly a month ago, authorities said.
Jeffrey Arild Keidser, a Redondo Beach resident, was last seen by his sister at his home in the 700 block of Avenue C about 8:15 a.m. Jan. 22, Sgt. Mark Valdivia said.
For 11 years, Keidser watched his sister’s two dogs and would later take them back to her home in Torrance, but Keidser failed to return the dogs later that day, Valdivia said.
Family members went to his home, but he was not there. They found one of the dogs and found Keidser’s cell phone on a counter inside, Valdivia said, adding that family members said Keidser does not usually travel far from home.
The family told police they didn’t see any signs of foul play at Keidser’s home.
Family members contacted friends and other family, but no one has seen or heard from Keidser. A neighbor told police he or she saw Keidser about 10:30 p.m., Jan. 23, Valdivia said.
Keidser was described as 6-foot-1, 170 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt, sweatpants and sandals, Valdivia said.
Keidser is believed to have the other dog, Frankie, with him. He drives a silver 2004 Saturn L300 with California license plate 6PCD694.
Anyone with information on Keidser’s whereabouts was asked to contact the Redondo Beach Police Department.
