Downtown Manhattan Beach kicked off its holiday season with the traditional holiday lighting of the Manhattan Beach Pier on Nov. 14.

Downtown businesses also held an open house and prize hunt, with both events are staged by the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business and Professional Association.

The pier lighting was highlighted by live music provided by local school musicians. Downtown businesses unveiled their holiday window decorations, which were scored by a group of local judges.

There was also a holiday hunt that involved 41 participating businesses. Players got 12 clues to 12 stores. Guess the right store and get a stamp from them. Once a player gets 12 stamps, he or she put their completed clue sheet in a raffle bowl at the last store to be eligible for any one of 41 prizes.
