Manhattan Beach will host the 41st annual Older Adult Health Fair from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday May 17 at the Joslyn Community Center, 1601 Valley Drive.
Adults ages 50 and over are invited to attend this free event, which will feature health screenings, complimentary lunch, door prizes and BINGO, according to the city.
"Older Adults who want to take charge of their health will be provided with an array of free or low cost medical services and the opportunity to learn about local services and programs," Manhattan Beach officials said in an April 24 press release.
Free medical screenings include: anemia, blood pressure, body fat analysis, bone density, cholesterol, hearing, glucose, lung capacity, pharmacy review, and vision, the city said.
The Doppler test, which screens for strokes, will also be offered for $20, but requires pre-registration by calling 310-802-6177 ext. 1123.
Community resource booths will also be at the event, offering information on Dial-A-Ride, Beach Cities Health District, South Bay Family Health Care, as well as volunteer programs and services.
Local health and service providers, including the Department of Motor Vehicles and Social Security Administration, will have also interactive booths with details of services available, the city said in the statement.
