The first public meeting to discuss the draft Environmental Impact Report of the proposed Strand and Pier Hotel Project takes place at a special meeting of the Hermosa Beach Planning Commission Monday, Oct. 1, beginning at 7 p.m.

The proposed project, adjacent to The Strand between 13th Street and Pier Plaza, would include approximately 155,030 square feet of total gross floor area which includes approximately 100 hotel rooms, 178 on-site parking spaces and 22,461 square feet of retail, restaurant and public uses.

Public comment will be accepted at the meeting, but no formal action can be taken.

The draft EIR is available for review until Monday, Oct. 15. Comments on the EIR may be submitted to the city during this period.
