A new Chick-fil-A is set to open in Redondo Beach Sept. 12.
The location at 1919 Artesia Boulevard will be open every Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the company, serving a full breakfast menu until 10:30 a.m.
It is the second restaurant of the Atlanta-based franchise to open in Redondo Beach. The first—a restaurant that opened inside the South Bay Galleria in 1986—was actually the tenth Chick-fil-A to come to California, according to a company spokesperson. That original Chick-fil-A has since closed in April 2012.
"To come full circle and see where we've come from since 1986 to now 2019, the fanfare and the support...specifically in Redondo Beach...it's really exciting to be a part of that," said Jeremy Simpson, owner of the new restaurant. “The community has been amazing. Everyone is inviting and welcoming.”
The new Chick-fil-A — the 37th location within 25 miles of Los Angeles — will employee 70 crew members, features double-ordering drive-thru lanes that merge into a single payment lane, two walk-up ordering windows and a 24-seat patio, but does not have an indoor dining area due to space constraints.
"Typically, depending on what the plot of land entails, they want to be sensitive to spacing," said a company spokesperson. "Drive-thru is a huge business for Chick-fil-A, so this area will do very well with that.
“Everything we do in our restaurant is to please our guests with acts of service and kindness,” Simpson said in a statement. “The care and commitment extends outside into our community...”
