MBEF's Warshaw

City Councilmembers Mark Burton, David Lesser and Wayne Powell present Susan Warshaw with a plaque for her years of service to the Manhattan Beach Educational Foundation and the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.

Susan Warshaw, former executive director at Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, has been named executive director of the nonprofit Grades of Green.

Grades of Green educates students throughout the country about protecting the environment. Since the organization’s start in 2008, the role of executive director has been shared among co-founders, Lisa Coppedge, Shaya Kirkpatrick, Suzanne Kretschmer and Kim Lewand Martin.

"I'm excited to welcome Susan to the team as she guides Grades of Green in the next phase of our organization's growth to inspire and empower more students to care for the environment," said Martin.

As executive director at MBEF, Warshaw raised money for Manhattan Beach public school programs. She also recently raised funds for the El Camino College Foundation.

"I'm eager to lead the Grades of Green team as we expand our reach nationally and internationally," said Warshaw. "From our start with one school just a short while ago, we are reaching more students every day and providing K-12 environmental education that brings students, parents and the larger school community together for sustainable and measurable results.”
