Police in Manhattan Beach arrested a 27-year-old man Monday evening about 9 p.m. after officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle driven by the suspect was detected by an automatic licence plate recognition device, one of several located in the city at major intersections.
When officers attempted to contact the suspect near Manhattan Beach and Aviation Boulevards, the driver fled on foot with the vehicle still moving, according to Sgt. Tim Zins.
"After a perimeter was set up, a resident saw the suspect in their yard," Zins said.
The suspect was arrested without incident.
