Redondo Beach police were searching for a driver who hit two pedestrians, killing one, early Monday, Sept. 3, and then fled.
Investigators were asking the driver to surrender to the Police Department.
One of the pedestrians, a woman, died from her injuries shortly after the 2 a.m. crash, police said. The second, a man, was being treated. His condition was not immediately known.
The driver did not stop after the crash in the 1900 block of Artesia Boulevard, Lt. Shawn Freeman said.
The woman who died was identified Tuesday by Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner officials as Redondo Beach resident Iryna Miller, 36.
The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Artesia Boulevard, Freeman said. Investigators asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Investigator Clint Daniel at 310-379-2477, ext. 2721, or at clint.daniel@Redondo.org.
