Manhattan Beach


Three male juveniles were arrested for auto theft and burglary and one fled at 23rd Street and Grandview on Jan. 8. Police received a call around 9 p.m. about four males reportedly tampering with a car. When police arrived, the suspects fled. Three were detained and another fled on foot. A perimeter was set up to find the suspect. Officers conducted an investigation and determined the suspects entered an open, attached garage and stole a 2018 Mercedes. The suspects drove the Mercedes a short distance, parked it, and then ransacked it. One of the suspects had an ankle monitor and another had a juvenile no bail warrant for auto theft, according to police.

Car burglary

Three cars were burglarized in the El Porto parking lot between Jan. 6 and 8. A hidden access key was used to burglarize two cars on Jan. 6. A cell phone and wallet were stolen from each car. On Jan 8, a hidden access key card was used to burglarize a car. A cell phone and wallet were stolen from that car as well.

Two cars were burglarized in the Ocean Drive parking lot between Jan. 4 and 5. On Jan. 4, a hidden access key was used to burglarize a car and steal a cell phone and wallet. Two backpacks containing cell phones, sunglasses, a wallet with cash and bank cards, were stolen on Jan. 5.

An unlocked car was burglarized in the 500 block of 21st Street on Jan. 8. A backpack and other property was stolen.

Residential burglary

A home was burglarized in the 700 block of 11th Street between Dec. 22 and Jan. 6. The glass front door window was smashed to enter the residence. Loss is unknown.


A gate was damaged in the 400 block of 21st Street between Jan. 7 and 10.


An unlocked bicycle was stolen from the victim's driveway in the 500 block of 33rd Street on Jan. 8.

Hermosa Beach

Attempted burglary

A potential burglar was scared away when confronted by the home owner in the 2600 block of Manhattan Ave. in the early morning hours of Dec. 31.


A city parking meter was vandalized in the 900 block of Hermosa Avenue on Dec. 31.

A car was vandalized in the 1000 block of 5th Street on Dec. 24.


A hotel room was burglarized on Pacific Coast Highway on Dec. 24.

A garage was burglarized on 21st Street on Dec. 23.


Property was stolen from the front yard of two homes between Dec. 30 and Jan. 1. The crimes occurred in the 800 block of Manhattan Ave. on Dec. 30 and the 100 block of 1st Court n Jan. 1.
