Manhattan Beach

Vehicle burglary

An unknown suspect stole luggage from the trunk of a vehicle in the 800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard between 9 p.m. Sept. 28 and 11 a.m. Sept. 29. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle. 

Vandalism

A vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard was vandalized between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sept. 28. 

A male suspect was seen on security camera footage kicking a wooden front gate, causing damage in the 500 block of Rosecrans Avenue at 11:24 p.m. Sept. 28.

An unknown suspect damaged a front gate in the 600 block of Rosecrans Avenue between 7 p.m. Sept. 28 and 9 a.m. Sept. 29.

Theft

An unknown suspect stole a wallet from a victim's tote bag in a parking lot in the 2700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard between 7 and 10 p.m. Sept. 28. The suspect attempted to use the stolen credit cards at several stores. 

Grand theft

An unknown person removed a purse accidentally left in a store bathroom in the 200 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard between 12:30 and 3 p.m. Sept. 29. 

Redondo Beach

Petty theft

A suspect was found to be in possession of check written out to another person after being stopped by an officer for a municipal code violations near the intersection of Phelan Lane and Artesia Boulevard at 3:56 a.m. Oct. 7. The subject was also fond to be on parole for burglary. He stated he found the check on the ground and was going to return it to the owner. At the time of the report, a message was left with the actual owner of the check to contact the police.

Grand theft

Two suspects shoplifted more than $1000 worth of merchandise from a business in the 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard at 4:48 p.m. Sept. 28. The theft was discovered an hour later and video footage of the suspects was obtained.

Burglary

An unknown suspect smashed a window on trailer stored in the 800 block of North Catalina Drive at 8:33 a.m. Sept. 30. Loss was unknown at the time of report.

An unknown suspect entered a home to gain access to an interior garage door and vehicle in the 1700 block of Kingsdale Avenue at 1:21 a.m. Oct. 6. The owner of the home, who was upstairs at the time of the entry and alerted to the situation by her dog, found the door to her residence and garage door ajar. Inside her vehicle, her glove box was open and items had been removed and placed on the front seat. There was no loss.

Commercial burglary

A suspect has been taken into custody pending investigation into a burglary that occurred in the 2300 block of Artesia Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 1
