Ron Kovic, whose memoir “Born on The Fourth of July” was adapted into an Academy Award winning film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Oliver Stone, has a new book, “Hurricane Street,” which was published on July 4. Pages bookstore hosts Kovic at a free event Thursday, Sept. 29, beginning at 7 p.m., at Pages, located at 904 Manhattan Ave.
Kovic, a Redondo Beach resident, is an advocate for better treatment of veterans. “Hurricane Street” is his memoir about the American veterans movement, which picks up where “Born on the Fourth of July” leaves off. There is also a reprint 40th anniversary edition of “Born on the Fourth of July” being published at the same time.
