The Sunscreen Film Festival West took over Hermosa Beach for the sixth year this past weekend.

The event featured screenings, panels and other festivities. The opening night feature was the documentary “Punk V. Jazz,” which explored the music genres origins in Hermosa Beach.

Winners at the festival included “Sweet Caroline,” Best Feature; Johannes Muecke and Patrick Sturm, Best Director for “UI-Soon we will all be one”; “And Now, Love” for Best Documentary; Kevin Saxby, Best Actor for “Snoop!”; Leigh Adel-Arnold, Best Actress for “Attendant”; Petra Korner, Best Cinematography for “UI-Soon we will all be one”; and Best Short, “Attendant” for filmmaker Mark Stenton.
