When school or work has you overwhelmed, and you need a lazy night in, put Fat Tomato Pizza on your speed dial. As a high school student swamped with studying for AP classes and too many tests, sometimes you just need to order a fresh, warm pizza for the long night ahead.
Reasonably priced, straight out of the oven and as delectable as pizza can get, Fat Tomato Pizza is the perfect meal when cooking is too much effort. With delicious options such as Popeye’s White Pie (garlic cream sauce, double spinach, fresh garlic) or the Hermosa Special (tomato, garlic, fresh arugula, goat cheese, and basil), I never get bored of Fat Tomato's offerings.
On my most recent visit, I decided to try a few new items: the bruschetta, caprese pizza and the “double chocolate cake.” By the time I had tried everything, I was full and more than pleased with my meal.
First, the fresh bruschetta, which came on the side of a few pieces of toasted bread. The flavor that stood out to me the most was garlic; like most everything on Fat Tomato’s menu, the bruschetta had a strong garlic kick and lots of flavor.
The caprese pizza, up next, was hard for me not to devour entirely. More refreshing than any pizza I’ve tried, this one was decked with tomato, mozzarella, basil and garlic. All fresh and complementary to one another, each ingredient added the perfect flavor to make a satisfying and slightly addictive pizza. It was also, unsurprisingly, ridiculously chock-full of garlic … and I loved it.
Lastly, dessert! Fat Tomato Pizza keeps their dessert menu simple but classic, with their chocolate cake, New York cheesecake and a chocolate cookie. I didn’t see how one could possibly mess up chocolate cake, and as an avid chocolate addict I decided to give it a try. Absolutely scrumptious, … however, one slice was more than enough for my sister and me. Not only was the portion size generous, but the richness of the cake made it perfect to share.
While our meals from Fat Tomato Pizza have always been more than satisfactory, what makes it stand out the most is its efficiency and convenience. Fat Tomato always delivers quickly and is correct and cautious with our orders, all while keeping up the quality taste. Also impressive is their creative menu: more than just one-, two-, and three-topping pizzas, Fat Tomato displays a delicious and original menu hosting everything from Ravioli Marinara to “gourmet sandwiches” to an antipasto salad.
Of course, pizza is a classic, and Fat Tomato does it right. With the pizza put in the oven the minute you order it and buttery thin crust crowning the edges, you cannot go wrong with a slice from Fat Tomato!
