Nancy Vrankovic and Anne Conness opened Sausal in El Segundo four years ago and since then it has become a staple in downtown El Segundo. Their next venture, Mosa, recently opened its doors in Hermosa Beach and they hope the new eatery will cultivate the same type of loyal following.

“Top Chef” winner Brooke Williamson and husband and co-chef Nick Roberts celebrated the fifth anniversary of their restaurant Playa Provisions on June 15, with a party that featured family-friendly activities, live music and food and drinks.

Pitfire Artisan Pizza, in collaboration with Anderson Valley Brewing Company, recently launched its first beer, Brightlighter Pale Ale, at its Manhattan Beach location and seven other eateries in the Los Angeles area.

While drinking a cup of Joe or grabbing a breakfast burrito or a fresh-baked pastry at Java Man on Pier Avenue, one can get a sense of history. The coffee shop resides in a beach house that was built 90 years ago.
