“Search for the Perfect Wave” authors will appear at Pages bookstore in Manhattan Beach Thursday, Feb. 23, beginning at 7 p.m.
In the early 1970’s, Kevin Naughton and Craig Peterson got in a Volkswagen and headed to Central American to go surfing. They wrote articles for Surfer magazine and took great photos. Their book is their curated story, told in their own words and pictures, covering a decade in search of the perfect wave.
Volume 1 is a large format book featuring 224 pages with more than 400 never-before-seen photos by Peterson, new stories by Naughton, plus excepts from the Surfer magazine articles, plus lots more about their surf-travel-misadventures in the 70’s and 80’s.
Naughton earned a BA in Literature from UC Irvine and a Diploma Trinity College, Ireland. He lives in Laguna Beach with his wife and two children. Peterson is married, lives in Dana Point, and still hits the local swells.
RSVPs are appreciated.
