FOLA, Foundation of Local Arts, celebrates 10 years of supporting local arts and schools, Sunday, April 14, from 5 to 7 p.m., at its annual fundraiser taking place at Lido di Manhattan Ristaurante and Bar, located in Manhattan Beach.
Nearly 20 FOLA artists are showcased in “Arts by the Sea” as well as live music, a dance troupe, a fashion designer and a jewelry designer, for the “enrichment of cultural arts and education.”
In the past, FOLA grants have helped a variety of Manhattan Beach Middle School arts programs, including sponsorship of an annual literary magazine created by journalist students, purchase of orchestra instruments, art supplies and choral vocal instruction.
At Mira Costa High School, FOLA grants helped fund video equipment for the media program, vocal coaching for choirs and prizes for fine art as well as showcasing student art in the community.
The event also features complimentary appetizers, no host bar with wine, beer and cocktails, silent auction and door drawings.
Tickets are $40.
